ALS, 1812 November 28, Cambridge, [Massachusetts], to William Plumer.

Letter includes draft of Plumer's reply. Gerry acknowledges the receipt of Plumer's address to the New Hampshire legislature, "...exhibiting in lively colours the atrocious conduct of G. Britain towards the U. States..." Gerry continues his letter to discuss the War of 1812, saying: "Indeed 20, or 25,000 men appeared to me an army, not too large to invade lower Canada & to penetrate to the Walls of Quebec." Plumer, in his reply, comments at some length on the Constitution, the progress of the War, and offers his congratulatioins to Gerry on his having been elected Vice President.
